COTT is putting together a series of newbie clinics to help some of our newer members get acquainted with all things triathlon. As of now, we have 2 scheduled that will both cover slightly different topics, but with some overlap of the REALLY important stuff – it never hurts to reinforce the critical things. So for those of you that are interested, mark your calendars and let us know if you’re planning on attending.
Newbie Clinic #1 – (Please RSVP for this clinic directly to Stephanie Harless at skharless@hotmail.com.)
————————–
When: Sunday, April 29th – 9am (plan on 2 – 3 hours or so)
Where: Alum Creek Beach Parking Lot (map)
Who: New members thirsty for knowledge or existing members looking for a refresher.
What to bring: Your bike, cycling gear you’d usually need for a ride (shoes, helmet, etc), running shoes…
Stephanie Harless will be leading this clinic with help from Philip Kanjuka as well as myself. She’s planning on covering the following things, but is also interested in hearing from you guys on what additional topics you’re interested in hearing about…
- Basic bike handling
- Pace lining
- Road etiquette
- Bike gear must haves/what can you put on your “to buy later” list.
- Do I need a tri bike? Race wheels? Aero bars? And when to use them.
Please RSVP directly to Stephanie at (skharless@hotmail.com) as we’ll need to plan according to the number of attendees we’ll have.
